We ran across this great video of Royal Clipper’s Captain Sergey showing guests a few sailing maneuvers off the coast of Ponza, Italy.

Anyone ever bring kids on the Star Clipper?

Hi Jim,
Yes, guests do bring kids. The majority of the kids tend to be a little older, as there’s no official “children’s program” because the line does not get a lot of kids. That said, if there are kids on board, the staff arrange activities like scavenger hunts and try to entertain them.
Star Clippers is for families looking for an “out-of-the-box” cruise. It’s a unique adventure with a lot of opportunities to expose kids to new and exciting experiences. In the Caribbean and Costa Rica, there are a lot of water sports. In the Med, the ships call at wonderful ports with a lot of history and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
It’s the perfect line for families that really want to vacation “together” and not just see each other at meal times. There are no Broadway-style shows, no youth facilities, but you can climb the mast or hang out in the bowsprit net! You can’t say that for the other cruise lines.
